Our office utilizes DEXIS digital radiography. This state of the art x-ray system allows us to take the necessary radiographs to diagnose your dental condition. Your previous dentist may have taken radiographs in the past. Any current x-rays can be forwarded to our office either via mail or e-mail. Please fill out a release of records form so these reach our office in a timely manner. It is vital that we have diagnostic quality radiographs. If we do not have proper radiographs forwarded, new ones will be taken. Generally your first visit to our office will be for a Comprehensive New Patient Examination with a Full Mouth Series of radiographs. Our treating dentist will determine what radiographs they will need for proper diagnosis.
Infection controls and universal precautions protect clients and staff alike. Everyone benefits from rigorous infection control — you, your dentist, and the dental team. The cornerstone in a good and safe dental practice is the element of trust. You should feel free to discuss this topic with any of our team members at Pine City Dental and receive a straightforward answer.
Our doctor and staff follow procedures recommended by several federal agencies: the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
These measures include:
-Personal protective equipment including gloves,
face masks and safety glasses
-Chemical disinfection of all surfaces
-Routine hand washing
-Use of disposable materials and barriers when feasible
-We sterilize all reusable instruments, including dental hand pieces. We use an autoclave for sterilization. This is a device that kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat and pressure.
